Last week Loz and I were invited to London with a gaggle of other Mummy Bloggers by Huggies to have a swimming lesson with Water Babies and Olympian Karen Pickering at Imperial College, Kensington.

Being run by Huggies, all the babies were kitted out with the brilliant Little Swimmers Nappies, and their new Hygiene Mat. We’ve used the Nappies before when taking J swimming, but the Hygiene Mats were new to me. Put simply they are a clean and hygienic surface to put your baby / toddler on whilst changing them for swimming. They are machine washable, and fold into a character bag (either frog or penguin) for easy storage, I think they are a brilliant idea!

She then led us through a handful of different games / activities suitable for our little ones to get them to explore the water. J seemed to enjoy them all (although the pool was definitely a bit too cold!), he REALLY didn’t like being submerged, I must admit I didn’t really like him being submerged either! 🙂

KE-EVT-Huggies-Lowres-4215_zpscb0a13f1After the lesson the babies got changed (on their Hygiene Mats!) and we went for a stroll in the lovely Summer sun to the Milestone Hotel for afternoon tea. Being a 5 Star Boutique Hotel, it was GORGEOUS! All of us were served beautiful sandwiches, cake, tea and scones. It was wonderful to sit and chat to the other bloggers and met their beautiful children. Karen Pickering was on hand to discuss swimming lessons and techniques on getting little ones into the water.

J loved tearing around the beautifully laid out room and getting attention from all the ladies, and posing for the photographer. Unfortunately he did get a little over excited and threw a porcelain tea cup onto the marble floor (whoops!) The Huggies team really did a fantastic job in organising the event, and we went home filled with yummy food, made new friends, swum with a Olympian and got hold of a wonderful new product!
