It’s been a while since I’ve written about ‘Me’ – I guess I’ve fallen into the old blogger trap of reviews and stuff without concentrating on the area where this blog started (nearly 7 years ago this month!) – Me.

I don’t tend to write much in the way about relationships, because I think it’s a bit unfair to just give your side of the story when there are two people involved. It’s now been over a year since my marriage ended, and it was a horrible time for all involved. It’s not been easy for the most part, and I’ve made a lot of mistakes along the way – but I’m out of the tunnel and into the light once again.

Dating was a bit weird for me, I’d never had much time before as a singleton and, as I discovered – it’s pretty hard work dating in today’s technology filled world. I wrote about it a bit here, but generally I found the experience to be hard work and depressing. That elusive ‘spark’ proved nigh on impossible to find.

But, when I was just about getting sick of it all, I found someone new.

It’s still early days, but signs are very good (VERY good), in such a short amount of time Miss A has rocked my world to the core. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to find someone to tolerate the cluster fuck of fail that I can sometimes be, but – she does and seems to do it brilliantly! It started very slowly, very calmly, and like a snowball rolling down the hill, it’s just grown and grown.

There’s been a lot of too-ing and fro-ing these past few months, but we’re in a routine now that gives me time to get to be together with her, time to spend with the kids, and time where both happens. It’s pretty bloody perfect to be honest, it’s not been forced or hard (don’t giggle!), it’s just been very organic and natural. She broke her ‘Don’t date Dads’ rule with me, and I’m so thankful for it! It’s hard work taking on someone else’s kids, and their baggage, but she’s handled it with aplomb. I couldn’t wish for any better.

So what happens next? Honestly, I don’t know – hopefully a LOT more of the same, and then a bit more. We’re off to Thorpe Park this weekend, where we first met, as a proper couple which I’m REALLY looking forward to.

Hopefully I’ll have more to tell you soon, there are a few exciting adventures in the pipeline and I’m starting to look at the future with excitement, and not dread! So there you go, there’s my update!

So am I happy now?

Yes. Yes I am.
