Most of the videos that you watch online are undoubtedly online streaming videos. Between social media, video sharing platforms, random websites, livestreams and even video-on-demand services – the sheer amount of content available in the form of online streaming videos is staggering.

While streaming videos is generally quite convenient, if you want to save them to watch offline or on devices that aren’t connected to the internet then you may have difficulties. The best way to be able to save any and all online streaming videos on a Mac is to record them from your screen using Movavi Screen Recorder for Mac.

Part of the advantage of using Movavi Screen Recorder for Mac is that it is easy to set up, and won’t take much time at all. In fact if you want to try to record streaming video on Mac right now, go ahead and open up the video then launch the software.

When you launch Movavi Screen Recorder for Mac, the first thing you need to do is click and drag your mouse cursor to trace a frame over the area where the online streaming video is located. Try to be precise, but you can always adjust the frame later or use one of the presets on the interface if you want to. Instead of manually controlling the recording, you could click on the ‘alarm clock’ icon on the interface to set a timer so that it automatically stops recording after a particular duration. For livestreams you may even want to schedule Movavi Screen Recorder for Mac to start and stop recording.

That is all that needs to be set up, and you can proceed to press ‘REC’ on the interface to start recording (unless you scheduled it), and play the online streaming video once you do. When the video is complete, press ‘Stop’ and Movavi Screen Recorder for Mac will save it onto your hard drive and open a window for you to go over the recording. In the ‘Preview’ window you can trim out any bits that aren’t needed but may have been inadvertently recorded – particularly at the start or end of the video. After you do you can click ‘Save As’ to save the video, which may be useful if prefer a different format than the default MKV file that Movavi Screen Recorder for Mac would have saved your video in.

As you can see it is easy to record any kind of online streaming videos using Movavi Screen Recorder for Mac. Rest assured this method will work just as well regardless of whether it is a video on YouTube, Facebook, Netflix, or any other platform or website for that matter.
