Looking for a fun family activity but it’s raining outside? This is a problem that is all too common in England, but if you are determined to have a great day with the little ones, then there are a few great options instead of watching TV all day. It is important that you make time to spend with the kids as this is how you strengthen your bond and make memories together. As they get older and find different interests and meet new people you will not get as many opportunities, so it seems silly to let a little bit of rain stop you from having a good time. With this in mind, here are a few fun activities that you can do on a rainy day.
Go To The Cinema
The cinema is always a good option when the weather turns and especially if there is a big blockbuster that the whole family can enjoy. It may not be the most social activity, but it can be fun to stock up on sweets and spend a few hours getting lost in the magic of cinema. Additionally, you could always go out for a bite afterward to discuss the movie.
You do not have to leave the house to have a good time, and one great idea is to get in the kitchen to whip up some tasty treats. This is always a lovely activity to do with kids and one that is valuable too as it is important to show them how to make food and provide for themselves. You could try cooking dinner, but kids may find baking more enjoyable, and a delicious cake will certainly satisfy their sweet tooth!
An escape room is ideal for a rainy day as it is a highly engaging, thrilling and rewarding activity that requires you all to work closely together. These are quite a unique experience, so it is sure to be memorable and a good way of getting them to use their brains in a fun setting. These rooms are becoming more and more popular, meaning you can find an Escape Room Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for example, or one in New York or even Chicago.
Another good option if you can’t face going outside is to have a board game night. This is a much healthier option than watching TV, and there are all kinds of brilliant games that you could play. Try introducing them to fun board games from your childhood, but be sure to have a few new ones that they can enjoy too.
Stock up on delicious snacks and treats so that you can treat yourself with a fun indoor tea party/picnic. This is a good option as it is highly social and gives you the opportunity to spend quality time together without distraction.
When it is rainy outside (which seems more often than not), it is all too easy just to drop any plans and sit in front of the television. This is unfortunate, as there are lots of terrific family activities that you can do on a rainy day which will allow you to spend quality time with your little ones and bond.
