Child supervision is necessary, but there are times you will not be around your toddler. No equipment can offer 100% child protection from harm or injury. You must equip them with safety guidelines that will prevent them from hazards. Once your baby is old enough to understand what you are saying, teach him or her these safety tips:

1) Car Safety
According to the CDC, the main cause of child deaths is car accidents. You can be a keen driver, but your child is a risk since other road users may not be as responsible as you are. If, by bad luck, you are involved in a crash and your child gets hurt, get in touch with Denver Attorney Gary Bell who will build a case that will lead to a favourable compensation.
Nonetheless, you should train your child to buckle up and stay in his or her seat when you are driving. Also, do not break any traffic rules since kids are constantly watching and learning from you. This will help them as they grow up into their teens whereby will ultimately drive safely on their own, thanks to your mentorship.

2) Teach Your Kids How To Use Public Transportation
This is a survival requirement. It will not be every day that you will be around to pick and drop your kids. Travel with your kids and let them watch you. Let them even travel with an older friend. Children learn better on their own. All you need is to let them know what they need to do when they are separated from their friends. When starting this, opt for a short distance and safe buses.

3) Train Your Kids on Responsible Road Crossing Tactics
You need to train them on safe road crossing habits by demonstrating this every time you are together. Your kid should know how to study and interpret traffic signs. Remind him or her to cross only on zebra markings. On inroads that have no traffic lights or zebra markings, teach them the “look left, then right, then left again” crossing rule, and if no cars are present, they can cross. It is also ideal to hold your kid’s hand when crossing. If they are older, tell them to put their phone aside when crossing the road.

4) Make Sure They Learn How To Swim
Taking them to supervised swimming lessons is important for their safety. Kids are at high risk of drowning. Supervision is critical near pools. If you have a home pool, put barriers around it and teach them to only swim when there is an adult present.

5) Teach Them How To Wear Safety Gear When Playing
This is especially for cycling, skating, or skateboarding since there is a high risk of injury in these activities. Having helmets will reduce brain injury by 90%. This should be non-negotiable. They should also wear elbow and knee guards.

6) Help Them Develop a Good Intuition
When your children grow up, they will want independence and less supervision. You need to train them on being aware of their own instincts on what is safe. It is just as easy as wearing a sweater when it gets cold. It is your job as a parent to instil a sense of independence in them so that they can grow into responsible adults.
