Being a parent is no easy task. There’s a lot of to and fro involved from the moment you get up, till it’s time to hit the bed late at night. Add to that the pressures of work and life can often seem tedious without any fun.

For a couple to feel special, it is vital that they spend time together. This is truer once kids come into the picture. Being a parent is one of the most amazing feelings, but often couples forget about being lovers and focus all their energies on becoming the perfect mom and dad. Taking a break from your children might seem odd, but is an essential step towards keeping a healthy marriage and love life. While the tradition of a date night is sweet and necessary, it doesn’t always give couples ample time to be with each other. So, to keep that fire burning, it is worth heading on out for a little break once in a while to relish each other’s company.

Beachy Fun
Beach holidays are always relaxing and the perfect respite when taking time away from kids and work. However, to make the vacation all the more unique and romantic, make sure you pick an adult’s only resort that promises secret hideaways near crystal clear waters. While there are several beautiful couple’s only resorts around the world, that come highly recommended, if your budget allows, nothing beats renting a whole island for yourself, available in places like Norway, Belize, Philippines, and Brazil.

Living the High Life
There’s a certain charm in dressing up and enjoying a sophisticated evening, and if it involves some money making, all the better. To become a part of the rich and famous crowd, enjoy the most delectable Michelin starred cuisines, and drive in the most expensive cars, take your better half to Monte Carlo, a top European casino destination, that ever fails to impress. There’s an elegant aura all around in Monte Carlo that is bound to add a glittering charisma to your beautiful escape.

Go Exotic
A couple’s only holiday allows you to be a little more adventurous and visit countries that might be too chaotic for small children. Moreover, you can experience a lifestyle that is a lot more carefree and includes activities such as staying in budget hostels, partying till the morning, or exploring late night excursions that are not possible with kids in tow. Whether it is island hopping in Greece or backpacking in Asia, a holiday like this is sure to make you nostalgic about the fun and frolicking college days.

How About a Staycation
There are moments when time is short, but there still is a chance to be alone for a while. In such cases, a staycation is the best way to reignite that love between you and your partner. A staycation is quite simply a getaway in your own town where you check into a nice hotel, preferably with a spa, and spend some quality time with each other. The trick though is to tell the kids that you are off on work or maybe to another city because if they know you are nearby, there’s a good chance they’ll either be calling you back home or will eventually end up in your hotel room.
