There is much more coverage on how women can maintain their appearance as they age, but hardly any information out there for men. Though looks are considered superficial, they are still tied to our sense of pride and self. This doesn’t change, no matter how old you are. As such, it’s important to maintain your looks if you want to present well and feel good about yourself. For those who are unsure of how to go about doing this, don’t worry. We’ve written this article today to provide some helpful advice on looking your very best as an ageing man. So, keep reading to find out more.

1.) Moisturise

Don’t roll your eyes! Everyone keeps talking about moisturising because it’s very important for maintaining your appearance as you age. By starting and ending your day by moisturising your face, you ensure your skin is getting the hydration it needs. Not only will this prevent dryness (which worsens the appearance of wrinkles), but also sufficiently protect your face from harsh sunlight because it’s essentially a lightweight sun-cream. Even people with oily skin types need to moisturise. By making your skin look and feel smoother, your appearance will significantly improve.




2.) Grooming

Just because you’re older and not attempting to court anyone doesn’t mean you should completely discard your grooming routine. Once again, grooming is about respecting yourself and taking pride in your appearance. Your partner will probably appreciate the effort you’ve put in, too. We recommend having your hair cut regularly and shaving your facial hair in a style that flatters you Inevitably, age will have changed your face, so invest some time into finding what you think looks nice on you now. 5.) Health & Fitness

Some things never change, regardless of your age. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is one of these things, except it’s more important than ever before. Not only is upkeeping your fitness essential for safeguarding you against health problems in the future, but it also helps you to maintain your appearance and enjoy a fulfilling lifestyle. We recommend eating a healthy and balanced diet whilst avoiding things like alcohol or heavily processed foods (but don’t feel you have to restrict yourself, either). Exercising is also a must. Golf is often a popular choice amongst older men, but swimming is also excellent. This is a low-impact and full-body sport, so it’s perfect for keeping you in shape without hurting you along the way.

6.) Embracing Your Age

Perhaps the biggest factor in appearance is your confidence. In the same way women might become insecure about their looks as they age, men do as well. However, just because you’re older doesn’t mean you’re any less respectable or valuable a person. So, we encourage older men to embrace the changes. Don’t try to look younger – instead, try to look the best you can for your age. This is the key to success.
