So my early birthday present from Loz came the other day – it’s a ‘Hague Mini Motion Cam’ essentially a cheap ‘Steadicam’ mount for home camcorders. I’ll write a full review in due course, I’m slowly getting the hang of it, and it’s certainly pretty darn good.
I filmed two tiny videos both with and without the Hague attached to compare the difference, and yes there is a marked difference. The Hague gives it a more ‘floaty’ feel than the jarring movements when you walk, I’ve got to learn how to control it a bit better, but already it’s doing what I want! I’ll make some more videos and try and get the hang of it more, but so far, so good!
