The wonderful folks at Lizi’s sent me a bag of Lizi’s Original Granola to review. Being someone who eats a lot of Granola I was keen to give this premium brand a try!

Firstly it looks different to most cereals, instead of a cardboard box it comes in a resealable pouch, perfect for keeping it fresh. The Granola itself is beautifully basic, all natural ingredients –

‘Jumbo Rolled Oats, Rapeseed Oil, Desiccated Coconut, Black Treacle, Fructose, Cashew Nuts, Pumpkin Seeds, Golden Linseeds, Sunflower Seeds, Oligofructose* Syrup, Almonds, Roasted Hazel Nuts, Walnuts’

It’s not clustered like most other brands, no artificial sweeteners etc, just simple tasty ingredients. It’s all made in the UK too, which I think is a nice touch.

IMG_3216I’ve really enjoyed munching my way through the bag, and I’m keen to try some of the other flavours, the Pink Apple and Cinnamon and Mango Macadamia sound delicious! 🙂 A premium product does have a slightly premium price tag, my 500g bag would set you back £3.49, working out about 34p per serving. It’s well worth it though!

The Original Granola is ‘Low GI’ and has around 248 calories per serving, which is not bad at all! You can buy it at Amazon, Sainsburys, Tesco and Waitrose plus a selection of independent stores If you’re looking for something a little bit different for breakfast, I heartily recommend it!
