WhatsApp is probably one of my favourite apps – it’s brilliant, a truly unified messaging platform across so many different devices. The app updated yesterday on my Samsung Galaxy S4 to version 2.11.68 – and almost immediately my phone flashed up with a security warning.

The security warning suggests the app is delving (or trying to) into parts of the phone it shouldn’t do.

I had a little look on the Play Store Reviews and sure enough, there are other people reporting that they are getting similar messages. I’ve not seen ANYTHING like this on any of my Android devices before, so it is a little unsettling. Have you seen this? What device do you have?

I’m going to get in touch with WhatsApp support, but it just seems a little odd.

UPDATE – Looks like it was a bug – it’s now been fixed! 🙂
