2013 has been a crazy year for me, I’ve sort of adjusted to being a working stay at home Dad, but on top of the ‘day job’ – this blog has really kicked off. It’s getting to the point where I’m finding myself working harder than before to keep, parenting, working and blogging going. I don’t get much sleep, but I’m happy.
Blogging to me is utterly life changing, I’ve put so much into this place, a lot of time, a bit of money, and I’m proud of what I’ve achieved. Being a blogger in 2013 has changed my life. I’ve met so many wonderful, life affirming people throughout the year, so many ‘blogging legends’, some famous people, and I don’t think I’ve drunk as much (coffee and alcohol!).
The thing is, I have YOU to thank, you dear reader – people ‘hear’ of me through rankings on stuff like Tots 100, through social sharing and through reputation, and I wouldn’t have any of these things without you. It’s really hard to keep on top of everything all the time, but I’ll keep going so long as you keep reading.
I know I do seem like a bit of a cock sometimes, and yes, I can be – but I am humbled every time I look at Google Analytics and see people reading words that I’ve written, from all over the world, at all times of day. It still baffles me that people actually SEE this! I am trying to keep this site as ‘non corporate’ as possible. It’s VERY easy to sell out and turn your blog into one big advert, I can’t do that, I love this place too much!
Anyway, enough rambling, I want to wish everyone who’s visited here in the last 5 years a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Eat too much, drink too much, and enjoy the time with your family and friends. Look after yourself and see you on the other side! 🙂
