Unless you haven’t noticed, I am a man! And, as a man, I like to take part in manly activities that help me affirm my masculinity and take a break from life. I think every man who reads this will agree that having alone time is something that all men want in life. Although our families and loved ones are amazing, we still need time to recharge and recoup. So, with that in mind, I have decided to create my very own man cave where I can get away from the rigors of life and relax. If you are in the same process, here are some things I think are essential for the perfect man cave.
A Bad Ass TV And Sound System
I plan on using my man cave for watching a lot of TV. You know, the TV that I would like to watch but that my wife won’t let me watch because it is boring! So, when I am watching the football match or any sport really, I want to watch it on a clear screen. I also don’t want to have to strain my ears to hear the TV, so I am opting for a top notch sound system. After looking around, I think Systemline are a good choice for my man pad because they have a variety of products and options.
Games And Entertainment
Let’s face it – I don’t want to spend all day watching TV, so I need another way to blow off steam. After giving it a lot of thought, I have come to the conclusion that I need a pool table and some classic arcade games. Okay, I know that these choices are very generic. But, I love old school arcade games and I like to play pool, so it is a no-brainer. Plus, if the guys come around, they are sociable activities that we can all play. You could also make the room have a classic ‘bar’ feel with a sneaker neon sign – it will give off a great retro vibe!
A Quality Fridge
Personally, I would like a bar, but I think that may be taking it too far! Instead, I have opted for a fridge that I will keep stocked and loaded at all times. So, no matter what time of day or year, there will always be an ice-cold beer ready and waiting for me in the man cave. When I have a bad day, there is no better way to take the edge off than to relax with a cold beverage!

Scented Candles
‘Wait, scented candles don’t belong in the man cave!’ Okay, I know they seem a little bit girly, but I am a man and bad smells follow me around. Don’t pretend you are not the same! And, because I don’t like to stew in a smelly room, I need a way to get rid of the bad odours. The best way I can think of doing it is by using scented candles. Not only does the smell overpower all the other smells, but it also adds mood lighting. Now that’s what I call killing two birds with one stone!
There is plenty more that I can and will add, but these are just a few of the main things.
