In what has been a VERY hard secret to keep about Thorpe Park Resort. I can now officially confirm that you will be able to encounter AMC’s The Walking Dead at Thorpe Park Fright Nights!
Watch out London – the Zombies are coming!
To ramp up excitement for the news, this morning a gory billboard featuring walkers feasting on blood and entrails has been scaring commuters in London. In an effort to promote two new exclusive The Walking Dead mazes. The living billboard, which soaked unaware passing commuters in blood and guts, was created using over 50 kilogrammes of offal and blood. I’m glad I’m stuck behind my desk in Essex!
Marketing executives at Thorpe Park Resort are trialling the new interactive gore-fest billboard in East London. With a view to rolling out the new advertising format nationwide in September and October. Mounted on a truck, it will be touring London to promote Fright Nights this autumn.
What will The Walking Dead at Thorpe Park Fright Nights bring?
It’s been revealed that there will be two mazes themed around the hit TV show –
The Walking Dead: Living Nightmare will see visitors experience terrifying iconic scenes of the global phenomenon. This is an indoor maze where only the bravest of guests will join other survivors on the brink of death at the mercy of the notorious Negan. Whatever you do, watch out for Lucille!
As fans of the show will know, a lot of the action takes place outside. With this in mind the second maze themed around The Walking Dead at Thorpe Park Fright Nights could be very authentic.
The Walking Dead: Sanctum – Following in the footsteps of survivors, guests will have to navigate their way past the roaming walkers or risk being captured. There’s something chilling about being in the forests on the edge of the park in the darkness. The threat of zombie attack on top of this will only heighten the fear!
“Fright Nights is THORPE PARK Resort’s biggest event of the year, and we’re hugely excited to bring the worldwide phenomenon that is The Walking Dead to our visitors. Each of the two specially built mazes are absolutely terrifying and are definitely not for the faint hearted.” – Dominic Jones, Divisional Director at Thorpe Park Resort
I can’t tell you how excited how I am about The Walking Dead at Thorpe Park Fright Nights. It’s only a matter of weeks until it launches. As ever – I’ll be covering the build up and the launch event with a full review of all the mazes! Speaking of those it’s been confirmed that SAW Alive, Big Top and Platform 15 will return. Fingers crossed the ‘Containment’ Escape Room will be back too!
