For me, one of the most exciting parts of booking a holiday is booking the hotel you’ll stay in. Sure, it can be pretty stressful as you have so many options to go through, but it’s still very fun to look at the different rooms and imagine yourself on vacation there. Of course, some hotel rooms are a lot better than others! A few might be outside of your budget, but that doesn’t mean you can’t book a room with lots of great features that will enhance your trip.
On that note, here are some of the must-have features you should look for when booking your next hotel room:
Coffee machines
Who doesn’t love waking up to a freshly brewed cup of coffee? In a lot of hotels, this will mean heading down to the lobby and joining the hustle and bustle of the buffet breakfast. As enjoyable as hotel breakfasts can be, you sometimes prefer to spend time on your own. Most hotel rooms will provide you with some way to heat water up, along with some instant coffee sachets and tea bags. But, the best hotels will go one step further and provide coffee machines. These usually come in the form of Nespresso pod machines, but they let you make barista-style coffee in the comfort of your room. It’s a small luxury that makes all the difference when you wake up early in the morning – especially if you have an early flight to catch!
Jacuzzis
Sometimes, finding a hotel with a bath is hard enough. When you’re on holiday, you want to relax, right? So, having a nice long soak in a bath can be extremely invigorating. But, did you know there are some hotels with jacuzzi suites in the rooms? This gives you a spa experience without paying extra to use the overpriced hotel spa. It’s the perfect room feature for weekend getaways where you want to de-stress, or for a romantic vacation to help set the mood.
Free WiFi
This should be a given, but some hotels still don’t have good wifi for guests. Ideally, you want free wifi that provides good enough speeds for you to browse the web or stream something from Netflix. You won’t spend much time in your hotel room, but you still want to be able to do things to wind down after a long day. A lack of free, fast, wifi really is a pain in the backside.
Cocktail stations
Another drink-related feature that will really elevate your hotel room to the next level. If you can find a hotel that provides cocktail stations in the rooms, you’re on to a winner. You’re provided with different spirits and mixers, giving you the freedom to create your own cocktails before you head out. It saves money on drinks when you head to a bar, and it’s such a beautiful addition for any couples that are traveling together, adding to the romance.
If you’re planning a vacation in the not-too-distant future, think about these awesome features when booking your hotel!
