It’s important to note that the gym is not a catwalk, and the main reason you should be going there is to focus on getting the most out of your workout. You might not feel your best when you’re working up a sweat, but it is important to still feel confident even when you’re pushing yourself to keep going for the last few minutes of a run, lifting weights, or other activity. If you want to look your best when you’re working out, despite the sweat rolling down your back, here are some ways you can bring your sense of style into the gym.

Choose Gym Clothes You Feel Comfortable In

It’s always important to be comfortable when you’re working out, but this goes beyond breathable materials, it also means something that you don’t mind being seen in. Some people prefer to wear tighter-fitting gym clothes when they work out, and if this is your preferred look all the better. However, don’t feel as though you have to wear this popular choice if you don’t feel comfortable in it, looser fitting t-shirts and sweatpants can also look fashionable without making you feel self-conscious. You should be able to find a wide range of gym wear by looking online or visiting your local sporting goods store.

Practical but Stylish Gym Bag

You’ll also need something to carry around your gym gear, particularly if you’re working out straight after work or have an event to attend afterwards. Backpacks are popular choices as they can be easier to carry around with you when you’re on the go, but if you prefer a barrel duffle style bag this will be just as stylish and practical. New Trainers

As well as wearing the right clothes on your back, you’ll also need to invest in a quality pair of trainers to give you the right support when you’re working out. This is also a good opportunity to express your style in the gym or out on the fields if you enjoy engaging in outdoor activities. If you prefer to get your exercise through hiking or long walks, you might want to invest in a good pair of walking shoes instead as these will be more suitable than trainers.

Accessories

It’s not a good idea to wear jewellery when working out if you can avoid it, mainly as these accessories are likely to get caught and either break or hurt you. However, there are accessories you can take with you to the gym that will also allow you to express your sense of styles, such as bringing a cute water bottle with a unique pattern or colour, stylish headphones to listen to a podcast or music when working out, or even sporting a smartwatch/FitBit on your wrist which can help you keep track of your fitness progress, too.
