You might remember, we’ve been happy Simba Hybrid mattress customers for while now. However, when Simba offered me their top of the range Simba Hybrid Luxe mattress on the eve of my spinal surgery – I couldn’t say no! Whilst I’d been over the moon with our original Simba Hybrid mattress, I knew that Simba had created a whole range of great mattresses – and it would be great to try them out!

The Simba Hybrid Luxe Mattress (UK Double) retails for around the £2300 mark – although it is often available for a LOT less – when I got mine it had nearly £1000 off the ticket price. So it’s absolutely worth looking out on the Simba Sleep website for deals.

Where can I buy a Simba Hybrid Luxe Mattress?

You can ONLY get the Simba Hybrid Luxe Mattress directly from the Simba Sleep website – it’s not like the original Simba Hybrid Mattress which can be purchased via Simba, or a physical store like John Lewis. Even though you’re buying online, and it’s a large item, delivery is VERY swift – you can have one at your door in a matter of days. As a bonus – Standard Delivery is FREE (may depend on your location). Also, you can have them take you old mattress away for recycling too for a £40 upcharge on the same day your new mattress arrives! As a bonus (at time of writing) you will also get a FREE Simba Mattress Protector included too – which alone is worth £129.00!

How does a Simba Hybrid Luxe Mattress arrive?

The Simba Hybrid Luxe Mattress arrived vacuum packed and rolled in a very large box – thankfully the delivery guys were happy to deliver to the room of our choice – our bedroom upstairs. The double Simba Hybrid Luxe mattress weighs 37kg, which is about 6 stone – so you really do need two people to unbox it, and get it onto your bed!

Once you cut away the plastic wrapping material the mattress unfurls and starts to ‘grow’, as the air rushes into it.. you really need to leave it at LEAST six hours before sleeping on it and it can take up to 72 hours for it to fully rise.

You can also now try the mattress for TWO HUNDRED nights to ensure it is the right one for you – don’t like it? Simba will come and collect it, and refund you – but I think you WILL like it -let me explain…

Why is the Simba Hybrid Luxe Mattress so expensive?

At £2300 retail, there’s no denying the Simba Hybrid Luxe mattress is expensive – but what do you get for your money? Well, a very premium sleep experience – it has ELEVEN layers – from the breathable, anti-allergy covers, to the Graphite Infused Simbatex. All of them are there to hold you comfortably when you sleep, it’s not just a big chunk of memory foam (which can get horribly sweaty in summer). There are thousands of springs, in various sizes across different layers to help support you. I went over the layers in my YouTube video about the Simba Hybrid Luxe Mattress – I’d recommend having a look. It certainly feels like a massive upgrade over the original Simba Hybrid Mattress we had originally. It definitely seems to be better for temperature control – it’s nice and cosy in winter, and cooler during warmer nights.

It’s not really a like a traditional memory foam mattress – you don’t really fall into some squidgy hot foam, there’s a small amount of ‘sink in’. Underneath that – it’s just full on support that cradles you beautifully. This is certainly on the medium-firm side of the mattress spectrum – if you like soft mattresses – you won’t like the Simba Hybrid Luxe Mattress.

Something that I *really* like about the Simba Hybrid Luxe Mattress is that the top cover can be unzipped, removed and washed (up to 40 degrees and lower speed spin). So if you spill your morning tea, or the dog is sick on your bed, you can whip off the top cover and give it a clean. Combine that with the washable mattress protector, your mattress will stay looking good for the duration of the recommended ten year life span!

Should I buy the Simba Hybrid Luxe Mattress ?

If you like a firm mattress – then YES! Absolutely.

BUT.

Do NOT pay the full, retail price for it. Thankfully Simba do seem to have it on a lower price fairly regularly, so I’d recommend just holding off until it’s on sale at with 40% – 50% off. I think a lot of people would struggle to justify a £2300 mattress when you can get it for £1300 a few weeks later. But, when you consider the life-span of this mattress is 10 years, and you could, potentially spend roughly 3650 nights on it. Even at full price – that equates to 63p per night – which is pretty good value. At the reduced price, you’ll be ‘paying’ roughly 36p per night. That’s quite a saving over the lifetime of the device.

Also, something I really like about Simba is they are masters of the mattress world – they’ve been around, and developing mattresses for 8 years now. Sure, you might be able to pick up a cheaper ‘memory foam’ mattress from the middle of Lidl one day, or some random seller on Amazon. The Simba products are all meticulously researched and designed – and backed with a guarantee (plus a lot of positive reviews!) so as well as paying for the product – you’re paying for a whole package too.

I genuinely look forward to going to bed at night, I’m well supported, cosy, and comfortable, and that is all thanks to the Simba Hybrid Luxe Mattress!
