We were invited down to the Marsh Farm KidsFest which is running today and tomorrow at Marsh Farm, South Woodham Ferrers, Essex, G is with her Mum at the moment so we took J along as he loves all the animals!

When we got there the staff got us parked quickly and smoothly, everything seemed to be well thought out and organised and we collected our wristbands from the gate. When we’d arrived the ‘Partyman’ was on stage and in full swing, lots of kids were down the front and boogying away! We went over to the Inflatable Village, J didn’t really appreciate the bouncy castles as he’s a bit under the weather. He loved the ‘Giant Games’ – we couldn’t leave until all the pieces were in the oversized Connect 4.

J’s favourite thing at the farm are the animals, so we made our way back to the Farm to find them. On the main stage at this point was the real ‘Mister Maker’ from CBeebies, I don’t know who was more excited about his appearance, the children or the Mums! 馃檪

The regular farm bit was nice and quiet, so we had a leisurely stroll around, having a look at some of the stalls and stands that were dotted around. J really enjoyed feeding the goats, and then the pigs and squealed with delight when the pigs were ‘fighting’ over the food.

We also bumped into a well know TV Celebrity..

After our brush with a famous, we popped over to the Pet Barn to see some more animals, there we rabbits, goats, a pony and some donkeys there to pet. J loved the rabbits, he carefully stroked them with a massive ‘Ahhhhhhhhhh’.

The Marsh Farm KidsFest also plays host to a Vintage Fun Fair, with a beautiful old fashioned Carousel, a Big Wheel and a massive Helter Skelter. The Carousel was the only thing that we knew J would enjoy, so Loz took him for a ‘spin’ on it. The great thing about the KidFest is that all the entertainment on site is included in the price (It’s 拢25 per person on the gate – Under 2’s are free). So you don’t need to worry about coughing up a little extra for every ride or bouncy castle the small people want to go on! The only thing that you need to worry about is food and drink. Marsh Farm welcome you to bring picnics, otherwise, there are several food outlets dotted around, and the cafe too.

We elected to eat in the cafe, and as we’ve found before, the service was a little slow which was surprising as it wasn’t overly busy. It was a mild disappointment on what was otherwise a good event!

We stopped off at the Kiddicare Thurrock sponsored Baby Area to give J a nappy change, they had free nappies and wipes for the babies. Also there were highchairs available for feeding and a nice comfy sofa for breastfeeding, it was manned by a lovely lady called Sarah who was very helpful. We also got a goody bag too!

We had a little bit of a walk round and saw some more animals, unfortunately, J was a bit under the weather with a temperature, so we had to leave earlier than planned. We’d had a great time though and it was amazing just how much stuff they’d crammed in! Make sure you venture right to the far end of the Park as there are so many attractions dotted around, you won’t want to miss anything!

All in all, we had a great time at the Marsh Farm KidsFest – I think next year we’ll definitely pack a picnic, but there really is a lot to do there, and especially if you’ve got older children it really is a great day, and full day out! Also as part of the price you get free unlimited entry to Marsh Farm with your KidsFest ticket for the next two months, making it even better value! I’m sure we’ll be back there again before the holidays are over! 馃檪

Disclosure – Marsh Farm sent us tickets in return for an honest review – all the words are mine! 馃檪
