Despite all the stuff on going with Grandma, I have managed to have a relatively good day.

For those of you who don’t know what I do for work, you can get yourself up to speed here, but in a nutshell I’m a designer, I plan a lot of spaces, mostly Hospitals, Health Centres, and Offices. For the larger jobs I’m quite often asked to attend the site when it’s all installed and take some photos for my client’s portfolio and the end user.

The turnaround times on these jobs can be very tight and normally no sooner is the furniture is installed, the end users are being moved in and these beautiful modern offices spaces become awash with loads of messy paperwork, files and pictures of ugly children.

Not so with this one, the office isn’t due to open for another few weeks, so I was able to wander around and snap away with the site looking as I intended it, it was a calming slice of heaven! This had been a fairly quick project that was very work intensive and I’m pleased that it’s all turned out well, and pretty much as I planned it! I’ve not even got the pictures off my proper camera yet, but I thought I’d share a few that I quickly took on my Lumia 1020.

Below is a rough render I had to do for the client early on, and then after that are some of the images I took on site. There have been a few colour changes and shifts since my original drawing, but it’s not too far off!

How it looks in the flesh.

There are a few more images around the site, I’m really please how it’s turned out, the break out furniture in the kitchen is lovely!

Before I knew it it was time to get back to Chelmsford to get G from school, as J had a slightly shorter nap, he was able to come along too, which was a bit of a rare treat for G! They did look very cute holding hands walking along.

I also decided that I should update G on the situation with her Great Grandma, it didn’t go quite as expected.

“I thought I should tell you that Great Grandma, she’s very poorly and we’re not sure how much longer she’ll be with us, she’s in her bed, and sleeping a lot so she’s not in any pain but..”

G’s face looked a bit sad and I felt a bit choked, I tried to finish what I was saying and G butted in..

“..she’s on her last legs!”

As horrible as it is, she was right and I smiled – she’s a tough little cookie is G!

Here’s to a good weekend!
