The nice folk at Monarch offered me the chance to take part in an evening of Golf, Tapas and Wine with some other bloggers to celebrate the fact Monarch fly to a range of top golfing destinations.

The event was held at the INCREDIBLE N1 Golf in Greenwich which has stunning views of the London skyline, which is attached to ‘Vinothec Compass‘ an awesome bar / restaurant.

Thankfully I wasn’t alone for the night, I’d bumped into the lovely Kate, Alice and Haydy on the way, which was a relief as I was nervous about my ‘Golf’ debut. I’ve never played ‘Golf’ before, I’ve done Crazy Golf a lot – I’m the self proclaimed king of Extraordinary Golf at Alton Towers, so how hard could hitting a ball as far as possible be?

Bloody hard!

I was appalling – I’d switch between either missing completely or chipping the ball off the edge with pathetic speed.

Thankfully N1 Golf has a score of professional golfers on hand to help with your stroke, and to be honest, I think all of us in our bay improved dramatically after a few pointers. After an hour or so of practice we were called up to hit the ball as far as we could, those who got the furthest won prizes. I obviously didn’t win anything, but it’s the taking part that counts (it’s not).

The rest of the evening was a bit of a chore to be honest, being given glasses of wine and beer to ‘taste’, and handed various Tapas dishes to try. It was that much of a chore that I drank ALL the wine and beer and left London with a slightly swimmy head.
