As most of you will know, I’m a pretty firm glasses wearer these days – I was never a fan of them – but in time, I’d grown to like myself in a pair of glasses. The thing is, I do like to go specless when I go out-out, so instead of wearing the monthly or two weekly contact lenses, I’ve worn dailies instead. Dailies offer a bit more flexibility, because you’re only meant to keep lenses stored in a case for a certain amount of time. Then when I’ve not been out as much, or fancied wearing my lenses I’ve had to pop in a new pair because the other ones had been sat in solution for too long! I’d always been a wearer of the Acuvue lenses before, so when VisionDirect.co.uk offered me some 1 Day Acuvue Moist lenses to try I was happy to give them a whirl.
Ordering from VisionDirect.co.uk is simple, you just use the drop down boxes to input your prescription details – and it will give you a ‘live’ dispatch date – add them to your basket and checkout, orders over £49 get free next day delivery too (my £33.96 order cost £2.98 to be delivered next day!)
The parcel from VisionDirect.co.uk was well wrapped, and hadn’t been squished by the postie, inside the box were 60 lenses (30 for each eye) and a bag of Haribo (I’ll give that to G as it’s not veggie friendly!).
Inside each box are 6 strips of 5 lenses, each individually sealed and easy to tear off – I really like having lenses in this kind of packaging, I can keep a few in my bag if I inevitably rub my eyes too hard and I lose a lens. There’s no need to faff about with solutions and cases, I can immediately replace it. It’s also super handy for travelling, I can stuff a couple in my washbag and have a fresh pair each day.
Putting them in is really simple. They have a slight blue tint so they are easy to see in the clear solution. Also it’s sometimes easy to accidently put in a contact lens in ‘inside out’, but the 1 Day Acuvue Moist (As well as the rest of the Acuvue range) have a handy indicator to tell you if it’s right or wrong. If you look REALLY closely at the lens as it’s on your finger you’ll see writing that says ‘123’, if it says ‘321’ (backwards), the lens is inside out – it’s easier than realising once the lens is in your eye!
Once the lenses are in, you tend to forget you’re wearing them, they are extremely comfortable and fit beautifully. I do a lot of work in front of the computer, and find that come 5pm other lenses are a bit dry and scratchy feeling, but the 1 Day Acuvue Moist live up to their name. I can happily wear them into the evening without a hint of bother – I actually fell asleep with them in! (Not recommended!)
I really do love the flexibility of the 1 Day Acuvue Moist lenses, they are fairly expensive compared to other brands, but the pricing via VisionDirect.co.uk is competitive, and cheaper than the high street! But with most things, you get what you pay for – these are good quality lenses that will last you a full day without a hint of dryness – even with prolonged computer use. I would definitely recommend them!
