Finding good people to do work for you can be a bit of a chore. If you’re hunting for a handyman to hang a few doors, or a photographer to get some nice pictures – you’ll find yourself trawling around looking for decent people. The problem is even when you do find someone decent, they might not necessarily be in your price range. Bidvine helps you connect with a range of skilled people, and allows them to ‘bid’ for your custom.

You choose the trade you’re after and a postcode, and fill in a form giving further information on the job you need them for. The information is pretty ‘granular’, so you can explain exactly what you need, so there’s no surprises for either party. You then set a rough budget, and then send the info off to the professionals registered with Bidvine in your local area.

To show how easy this is – I thought I’d test it out with a scenario – I want someone to come and photograph me, Miss A and the kids for some informal pictures to use on the blog.

So from the home page, I type Family Portrait Photographer and then ‘my’ postcode (not my ACTUAL postcode for privacy reasons), and it then asks for a bit more information.

It’s that easy

Then all you need to do is sit back and wait for responses. You might get asked more information from the professionals to make sure you’re both on the same page.

When you’ve got some ‘bids’ you can see them in your account – each professional has a profile with a link to their site, and some also have ratings to show what other Bidvine users have thought of their work. Once you’ve found someone you’re happy with, you can ‘Hire this Pro’ and book their time. Within 20 minutes, I had 5 quotes within my price range from a variety of photographers.

Looks like I’ve got some choosing to do!
