I do love having the kids over half term, although I’m always trying to keep them entertained. They could probably happily sit on their tablets for hours on end – but I’d rather we ‘do’ something. One of my favourite places to go during the holidays is Alton Towers Resort.
Even though the theme park is shut and not due to open until March, there is still plenty of fun to be had. From Saturday February 10th to Sunday February 25th, the Staffordshire-based Resort will transform into a fully-themed Pirate and Princess getaway. The ‘Pirates and Princesses Event’ is running in the Alton Towers Resort Hotels. Guests staying during the event will be able to to discover the underwater world of Sharkbait Reef by SEALIFE. Coming face-to-face with Blacktip Sharks, Spotted Rays and other mysterious and amazing inhabitants from the deep. As well as meeting the new arrivals – endangered baby Undulate Rays!
All the entertainment you can shake your sword at!
There’s an action-packed live entertainment schedule too. Including ‘High Sea and Hijinx: A Pirate Adventure’: three half hour fun-filled pirate adventures, full of treasure, heroic rescues. It’s a chance for budding buccaneers to brush up on their skills in ‘Captain Finn’s Training Camp’, where pirates-in-training will be taught all the skills needed to become a ferocious pirate!
The package includes tickets to the Alton Towers Waterpark, where lads and lassies will be able to anchor down in the Lagoona Bay, drift along on the Lazy River and, new for 2018, enjoy an interactive experience down the Rush waterslide, choosing from a five funky light and music themes to enjoy as you slide down.
Once ‘ashore’, join The Lost Boys in the magical Enchanted Tipi for more fun and games at The Lost Boys & Fairy Princesses party, with a whole host of things to enjoy including interactive treasure hunt, games and disco. The BRILLIANT Extraordinary Golf course is open too. We ALWAYS pay this a visit when staying over – you can see it in the vlog below –
You can choose to stay in the Alton Towers Hotel, an Enchanted Lodge or the CBeebies Land Hotel. Prices start from just £160 for a family of 4 sharing a family room. This includes all activities, live entertainment, entry to Sharkbait Reef by SEALIFE, 9 holes of Extraordinary Golf and Waterpark access. It really is a great price to stay at the Alton Towers Resort Hotels, and get all that entertainment included. It’s a lovely time of the year to visit the Alton Towers Resort, and I’d recommend it!
I think my next trip will be when the The Wicker Man opens. I might have some more news on that soon – keep an eye on my social.
