Despite it being at the peak of Summer, and Thorpe Park Resort gearing up for their ‘Love Island Lates‘, Alton Towers Resort have today revealed their line-up for their Scarefest 2018 ! Whilst there are a few similarities to the 2017 roster, there is a glaring omission.
When does the Alton Towers Resort Scarefest 2018 run?
The Scarefest runs on 6th – 7th October, 13th – 14th October then all the way from 19th October – 2nd November 2018.
Let the Ceremony commence!
At the top of the bill, is, unsurprisingly the Wicker Man! It will be running in the dark, along with the park’s other ‘Big Six’. The Wicker Man is incredible in the dark, and should be tried by any coaster fan. The scare-maze line up has Sub-Species – The End Games, Altonville Mine Tours and The Welcoming – Be Chosen. However, Terror of the Towers is GONE! It’s been replaced by ‘Project 42’.
Very little has been shared about ‘Project 42’ – BUT – it’s been widely reported that there has been some work going on in the Nemesis – Sub Terra building. There’s been scaffolding erected, and covers put up around it. Could this SBNO ride be coming back from the dead? I have heard from a source within the park previously that Sub Terra COULD return as a Scarefest attraction – it didn’t happen last year, but who knows?
To ensure there is a ‘family friendly’ offering for Scarefest 2018, the ‘House of Monsters’ returns (longer than previous years). Also, CBeebies fans can dress up and join their favourite characters for their very first Halloween Party at the ‘CBeebies Land Monsters’ Ball’ in Big Fun Showtime! Also a brand new friend for Phil, Franklin, Skelvin and Patch as ‘Gretyl the Witch’ joins the ‘Famous Freaky Five’!
Plus there’ll also be an awesome ‘spooktacular scare-mosphere’ throughout the park with innovative new shows, effects and entertainments.
If you want to, you can now book tickets for the Alton Towers Scarefest 2018 here.
Also, Merlin have reportedly trademarked ‘The Dungeons at Alton Towers’, so it COULD be this might be in the part of Alton Towers that normally has the the Terror of the Towers? There have been discussion that Cloud Cuckoo Land and the old Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ride could become ‘Dungeon’ themed. However, there has been rumour that it could become ‘David Walliams Land’ and tie-in with his popular children’s books. We’ll have to wait and see!
Whatever happens, stay tuned to my vlogs and social media for more news in the run up to October!
