VIXI
Vixi is how you do a hooded maze. It really builds up suspense as you walk around, unable to see. It is a creepy experience that delivers in spades, having one of the five senses removed heightens the others and Vixi really plays on that. Obviously, if you are scared of being hooded – then AVOID it.
“You live, time passes, you die, time continues. But what about the moment between life and death? They say that your whole life flashes before your eyes; all of that time played out in a single moment. A torturous, painful and tormented moment before finality. But time is a human construct, it does not exist. Your torment may be fleeting or forever, and you have chosen to experience VIXI before your time. The slaves of The Hellements know pain and fear and torture and the human nostalgia for time, and so they have decided to go Medieval! Look forward to seeing this again before you die.”
Twisted Clowns
Clowns are a staple of Halloween events, and the scare a LOT of people. Twisted Clowns is just as crazy as you’d expected – put simply, a LOT of demented clowns in a ‘funhouse’ that’s not really all that fun. The actors in Twisted Clowns last year were absolutely insane. I dread to think how it’s been ramped up for Tulleys Shocktober Fest 2019!
The Chop Shop
While we’re talking about staples of Halloween events, then another is Chainsaws. I don’t feel like I’ve been to a Halloween experience unless I’ve been chased by a chainsaw-wielding maniac at least once. The Chop Shop is FULL of the flipping things – the stink of petrol and the screams of guests further into the maze let you know you’re in for a rough ride. I loved The Chop Shop last year, and I’m looking forward to running, screaming from a chainsaw!
“Here at The Chop Shop we got trucks for your bucks. You need a trailer? A pick-up? How about our speciality, a good old cut & shut? We got all the best old wrecks ready for you right here. And if we ain’t got what you’re lookin’ for, well, perhaps my brother Billy-Joe and Billy-Ray can help you out with their special… renovations. You better be careful now, those two boys are real handy with a reconstruction, I’ll be darned if you’ve never seen no one handle a chainsaw like Billy-Joe.”
The Village – Coven of 13
Coven of 13 returns to Tulleys Shocktober Fest 2019. This maze is indoors, it’s outdoors and, much like all the other Tulleys’ mazes, it’s VERY long and packed with scares. Some of the ‘witches’ in the maze last year seemed to take a shine to me last year and were utterly relentless in trying to scare me. This maze uses the natural terrain of Tulleys brilliantly, and it really adds to the atmosphere.
“The thirst for blood and pain and death
Uttered in every cursing breath.
Turners Hill once rich and thriving
Now just 13 are left surviving.
Their souls are lost and black as pitch.
This village is held for the 13th witch.”

The Cellar Unchained
This is one of the most intense mazes at Tulley Shocktober Fest. I remember just how it seemed never-ending, and the actors were very unforgiving and utterly fixated on delivering scare after scare. I can’t wait to get down to The Cellar this year!
“The Cellar has long been a place where things are kept and forgotten. Lost things in the darkness scavenging to survive. But those that dwell in the Cellar have not been forgotten, they have been purposefully locked in. Imprisoned. Incarcerated. An experiment. What once was human is now a feral and malnourished murder of scavengers. Live These ‘Creatures’ have ransacked their ‘comfortable’ surroundings and turned it into a deadly game of cat and mouse. ”
Anything else happening at Tulleys Shocktober Fest 2019?
Yes! Dr Haze is back with ‘The Circus of Horrors’ at Tulleys Shocktober Fest. Blending Horror and Burlesque with bizarre and unbelievable acts from an almighty cast all performed to live rock music. The army of freaks have arrived at Shocktober Fest and will be taking you deep into the heart of the Asylum. Here you’ll see the most deadly, dangerous and greatest Circus of Horrors performers from the past are detained inside the notorious Psycho Ward. Entrance to The Circus of Horrors is included for Xscream, Fast Track & VIP Passholders.
There are also a selection of ‘pay per play’ rides and sideshows too – there is a LOT at Tulleys
I think, in all honesty, if you can only afford to do ONE Halloween event this year, I think you’d be best to visit Tulleys Shocktober Fest. There are mazes, scares, shows, and rides, all in one place – Tulleys really is one of the best experiences you’ll find in the UK. I can’t wait for the launch event, and I’ll follow that up with a full vlog and review of this year’s offering.
