A lot has changed in 10 years. Zopa have made this fantastic video of the past decade including some key cultural milestones as well as the evolution in finance from Zopa & P2P lending. Zopa have spent ten years attempting to transform the face of finance for the better.

I decided to take a look at where I was at ten years ago. This blog was just a twinkle in my eye, it came to life three years later.

Back then I was 23 years old, and the Dad to a 1-year-old Georgia. She was still everso tiny, probably in 6-9 month clothes.

It wasn’t the best of times, I was splitting up with her Mum and I’d moved back with my Dad in Chelmsford. I remember 2005 was one of G’s first ever visits to Chessington, she was hooked on the rides even then!

I was working as a designer for a small furniture company – I was there for six years in the end! It was a wonderful place to work and where I learnt everything I know now!

I remember I was rocking a slim notebook, it was one of the first of its type of little notebooks, I loved it so much, although it turns out it wasn’t very child friendly. Georgia pulled it off the sofa and it smashed. Some other technology I was rocking back in 2005 was a Sony Ericsson K750i phone which I upgraded to a Nokia 3230. That was my first ever Smartphone, with a whopping 1.23 Megapixel camera, I remember having my mind blown that you could get ‘apps’ for it – there wasn’t any app store, and installing them was a pain. My first app was a copy of TomTom, it blew my mind being able to use my phone as a SatNav!

It’s incredible how much things have changed in 10 years – have another good 10 years Zopa!
