21. Stealth Face

Whether you’re planning on going on Stealth or not, go and hang out in the Stealth ride area and WATCH people as the train launches. You’ll see joy, you’ll see fear, you’ll see absolute terror. You’ll see people who look like they’ve hit a glass window. I love it!

22. Depth Charge

Rides like these are rare in the UK, it’s essentially 4 water slides that you race down in an inflatable dingy. If there’s a group of you, you can race to the bottom. Don’t let the ‘water’ element put you off, there’s no soaking here, you get a little spray. That’s it. Watch out for skidding at the bottom, you might end up sideways!

23. Saw – The Ride

This was a world’s first horror movie themed rollercoaster. It’s a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter ride, similar to Smiler at Alton Towers and Rage at Adventure Island. After a brief interaction with Billy you’re thrown into a heart stopping ride, the only relief – the lift hill. However, there’s not much relief there, it’s a vertical one, and the drop onto the ‘blades’ comes quickly after. It’s not the longest ride in the world, but it packs a punch.

24. King Pig’s Wild Hog Dodgems

You can’t beat a good ol’ fashioned dodgem, the smell of the electric grid, the whirring of the cars. There is a 1.1m height restriction, so it’s not suitable for smaller folk, but I’ve ALWAYS got time for the Wild Hog Dodgems!

25. The Swarm

The second B&M (Bolliger & Mabillard) Wing Coaster in the world, and the first (and only) in the UK, The Swarm is immense. It’s so quiet and SMOOTH, even after a few years of service. It’s right on the edge of the park. It’s not the most intense ride at the Resort, however I think it’s my favourite. When they have all the effects running it’s a real treat. If you have limited time on the island, make sure you do The Swarm before anything else.

26. Rides in the Dark

Whether it’s a Summer Night, or a Fright Night. I LOVE rides in the dark at Thorpe Park Resort. The view from the top of Stealth at sunset is AMAZING. Seeing the eyes on The Swarm glowing their scary red as it zooms around the track, and the BEST night ride is Nemesis Inferno. While I’m talking about that….

27. Nemesis Inferno

The little brother of Nemesis at Alton Towers still packs a punch. Whilst it wasn’t built in a massive crater like the beast at Alton, Nemesis Inferno is built around a volcano! The ride starts with a thrust into the belly of the volcano, complete with smoke and red lights, then you’re flung onto the lift hill. I love Nemmy so much, it’s aging well. B&M make cracking rides – this isn’t their biggest, but it’s a lot of fun.

What’s in the Nemesis Inferno swamp?!
28. The secret of the Nemesis Inferno swamp

Nemesis Inferno is a great ride, but there’s a secret in the swamp. No, it’s not the crocodile that’s long been hidden by the undergrowth. There’s actually a VERY expensive Hublot watch lost forever in it. It’s probably still ticking.

29. Samurai

This ninja warrior started life at Chessington and moved when they wanted to appeal to a family market. It’s been a resident at Thorpe Park for a while now. It’s got a slight ‘fairground’ ride vibe to it. It whips you round with a lot of gusto, it’s like being strapped onto a windmill in a hurricane. It’s a great ride, have a go as you’re on the way to Saw – The Ride.

30. That view though..

I love the view of the park that you get from the bridge at the entrance, you can see so much of the park. It really builds excitement for the day ahead.
