41. Fastrack

I’m not a massive fan of queuing, I don’t mind a few queues, but standing around for most of the day just isn’t fun. Thankfully Thorpe Park have a large range of Fastrack tickets available, from ‘Ultimate’ which lets you Fastrack on EVERYTHING for the whole day, down to individual ones. If you’ve got an Annual Pass, splurging a few quid on Fastrack on busy summer days doesn’t feel like such a big expense.

42. Storm Surge

Storm Surge arrived in 2011 and sat on the land once occupied by the Octopus’ Garden. It’s another fun water based ride where you land with a splash! The boats don’t have any drainage in them, so don’t wear your favourite shoes on it – they might get a bit wet! It’s very popular during the summer, an early ride on this is recommended!

43. Timber Tug Boat

It’s not the wildest of rides, buy it’s a fun one if you’ve got small people, or, like me, you’re a big kid. It’s a good starter ride. Also, because Thorpe Park Resort is mostly about the ‘big’ rides, the queue is usually short, and while you’re nearby..

44. Lumber Jump

This arrived with the Timber Tug Boat in 2017 to bring a little bit of life back into the ‘Old Town’ area while the Log Flume is ‘Under Development’. It’s a bit like the Frog Hopper at Alton, it’s a teeny, tiny ‘drop tower’ that is enough to make a little one squeal, without scaring the life out of them. I like that Thorpe Park has some rides suitable for little ones!

46. Zodiac

This is a ride I really don’t like, at all. My old brain doesn’t like being spun around these days. However G LOVES this ride so much. To be fair, I loved these ‘Enterprise’ style rides when I was her age. Considering it’s one of the oldest on park, it’s still VERY popular today. Get your ride on it fairly early on (maybe after Quantum and Rush) and you won’t be waiting too long!

47. Vortex

It’s not a ride I’ve been on in a few years, for the same reason I struggle with Zodiac. That said, I’ve been on it enough to last anyone a lifetime. It’s a souped up version of the fairground favourite and has a fierce spin and swing to it. If you can’t stomach it, stand and watch it, the faces of the riders can be incredible (especially when they don’t like it!)

48. MERCHANDISE!!

I love a trip to the gift shop and picking up some Thorpe Park Merch. I’ve got more mugs than a pottery factory, and more pens than I’ll probably EVER need. They have so much stuff to pick up as a memento of a great day. There’s usually deals on a lot of the merch too, a cheeky 3 for 2, or maybe a BOGOF. Everything is pretty reasonably priced too – don’t forget to use your Annual Pass discount!

49. The Thorpe Park Resort Annual Pass

There’s no way that number 49 can be anything but this. Let me re-iterate, for just £49 you can visit Thorpe Park for a whole year AND it’s cheaper than an ‘on the day’ ticket. That’s INSANE value! Having an also gives you 20% off a lot of merchandise, and Food and Drink (excluding KFC and Burger King). When you’ve got an Annual Pass, you can really maximise your day. You don’t feel like you have to do EVERYTHING, you can return and do what you missed the next time.

So – there we have my 49 reasons why I love Thorpe Park! What do you love about Thorpe Park? Is there anything I’ve missed? Drop a comment below!
